Where to Go? (K&W Edition): NIGHT SAFARI!!!

For the first time in my life, I finally went to Night Safari. Now I'm proud to call myself a Singaporean (hahahahahhaahaha). Well, it was a good training for me anyway, being forced to go into the bathouse and actually surviving it *applause*. And truth be told, I think Night Safari might be a tad more enjoyable than the zoo, considering that its cooling since its at night, and the crowds are fairly towards the young adults rather than a bunch of rowdy kids zooming in and out of your path. Hmm, ok there isn't much space for them to walk around anyway. I guess the downside is probably only the fact that you have to strain your eyes to find the stupid animals all hibernating around. It's funny, because aren't they supposed to be nocturnal??? THAT, I will never understand.

Well, I say great company makes everything enjoyable. :D

So yup, we both jumped on the last day to get the 1 for 1 tickets and went there last Sunday. It was really lucky though, I thought we'd miss it because my mum wanted to spend Mooncake festival with me and stuff but hola she decided to be a saint and let me out of the house. I'd never understand her too.

Crowds queuing up for the tickets even before the park opens
LONG LONG MAP

And always pausing to take the commemorative photo, like tourists.
*Ahem* korean *ahem.

Stopped for awhile to watch the fire show (ok I really dont remember what they're called, some hugashaga probably) before going in around 8pm. Missed the early animal show, but it was probably for the better cause we caught the last show and it kinda fit in our schedules perfectly. :D

EAT YOUR ICECREAAAAAAAM

After which, we started on our journey!! FISHING CAT TRAIL FIRST!

And, there's a severe lack of photos because my camera is too lousy for night phototaking, and obviously flash wasn't allowed. So, yeahhh here's what I have.
One nice photo of the old and balding pelican, of which I have to mention that the boy cannot tell the difference between ducks/birds and pelicans. HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Took the tram ride and stuff as well after watching the animal show.

The tram ride was pretty cool, like you just sit on it and it takes you around on a 40min tour around some areas that pedestrians dont go by, and with live commentary. Of course, it's a bit limiting when you don't get to see the animals cus some of them just dont want to let come out. LE SIGHS.

The animal show was pretty cute too, but a tad too short. Oh well. HAHAHA.
And can i mention how much I love the sloth bear. It is SO SLOTH LIKE. No photos of it, but please google it.

woaaaaah zebra cafeeeee

So, Night Safari checked off the list!
2 down, MANY MORE TO GO :D:D:D

with the BBF in the entire galaxy :D

p/s: I really need to be quicker in uploading the photos. LAZY PILL GO AWAAAAAAY.

Where to Go? (K&W Edition): Picnicking!

So for the last weekday of recess week (I'm not a student but i'm still allowed to call it a recess week), both of us went somewhere to chill and just lepak. Somewhere budget, yet worthwhile. Somewhere.....different from all the hustle and bustle of city life, departmental stores (all those evils that burn my pocket everytime), the usual.

Going down the list of "Where to go? (K&W Edition)", we found ourselves preparing for the beach, i.e PICNIC TIME! :D

Not that I haven't done it before. The most recent was the picnic at Marina Barrage with the NAIS, which left me horribly darkened with unsightly tanlines at weird areas. Picnicking is always fun I suppose, with all the food, the music, the company and of course the sea breeze. I like picnicking - as much as I like food, which says a lot already, really.

Well, for a picnic that was really hastily prepared, I'd say we did a great job with all the preparation. It wasn't all there, but it was adequate. The food (ok masterchef tan here did most of the cooking but i helped ok), the music, the mat (some cloth that i randomly found hidden in the storeroom) and the camera. And it's amazing that I managed to wake up at 9am to buy the groceries and etc. You know me, I'm so lazy I roll out of bed everyday.

But yeah, we did the cooking, cleaned up and was all ready for picnic time at ECP.

The things we prepared and brought:

Took some bus 196 (kinda got lost for awhile) and finally reached ECP with the boy's awesome GPS skills. Walked a little, sweated a lot, chosed a nice spot and finally sat down to begin our picnic session! The day was really quite good though, with a nice strong wind blowing (not heavy, note to self), and adequate sunlight. Two birds constantly surrounded us though, that was a little annoying, but other than that, picture perfect. :)

AND THE PICNIC STARTS!!! *excited*

Laying out the food and all. After travelling in the hot sun, both of us were waiting to nomnomnom all the food down into our tummies.

Salivating in progress

And my favorites:
(but actually I think I like everything hehehe)

And the food was so good, even this little bird couldn't resist. The whole afternoon it just kept circling us. THE WHOLE AFTERNOON.

And after lunch, we began the lepak session.
Feels so good to just lepak, I wonder how long more I can keep this up.

hahahahahhaaha, so hansum

On hindsight, we should totally have went to Sentosa instead. ECP that day was so quiet, only a few peepers rolling skating around. Other than that, nobody else picnicking near us. Nobody. Kinda think that Sentosa would have been a much wiser choice. But either way, with awesome company, anything is fun. I had an awesome time, although halfway through, the boy's energy balloon deflated and the picnic had to end.

SO NOT A MORNING/AFTERNOON PERSON YOU (if you're reading this hahaha).

So that pretty sums up our entire afternoon at the beach picniking. After which we left for Parkway Parade to bask in some lovely aircon and some bubble tea.

All in all, had a great time.

Goodbye!
